The Performance AWD adds a front induction (asynchronous) motor that works with BYD's iTAC torque control. The Seal was BYD's first car with Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction: the battery's top cover forms the cabin floor, so the pack is part of the body structure. Request pickup or recovery →Regenerative braking does most of the stopping on a Seal, so pads last long – but discs corrode and caliper slide pins seize from lack of use, especially with Dubai sand and coastal humidity. Our brake mechanics service calipers and slide pins, measure discs against minimum thickness, replace pads and discs with EV-rated parts, flush brake fluid every two years and reset the electronic parking brake after the job.
Car brake repair →The Seal runs double wishbones at the front and a five-link rear, with frequency selective dampers on higher trims, carrying over two tonnes on 235/45 R19 tyres. The Seal cools its Blade Battery with refrigerant from the heat pump. When the battery runs hot – because of low refrigerant, a weak compressor or a condenser packed with sand – the car limits charging power to protect the pack. A cooling system check and condenser clean at our workshop usually restores normal DC charging speed.
Most no-start cases are a flat 12V battery, which stops the high-voltage system from switching on. The 12V jump terminals are under the front trunk lid. If the car still will not wake, call us and we will arrange a flatbed with Free Pickup and Delivery* to our Al Quoz garage.
