The ZF gearboxes in modern Rolls Royce cars are often described as filled for life. In UAE conditions we recommend a transmission fluid change every 60,000–80,000 km, and sooner for cars used mainly in city traffic.

It means the engine or transmission control unit has detected a fault and may limit power to protect the drivetrain. The cause can be the gearbox, but it can also be a weak battery, an engine fault or a sensor. A full diagnostic scan is needed before any parts are replaced.

A fluid service or leak repair is usually completed the same day or next day. A mechatronic repair takes two to four days, and a full rebuild normally takes one to two weeks depending on parts availability.
